NAME: Shinji Ikari OTHER NAMES: The Third, Third Children AGE: 14 (DOB not important because, even though I find it hard to believe that these pilots are only 14, nobody really cares when they were born, just that they are!) APPEARANCE: Short black hair, dark eyes, school uniform (white shirt, black trousers), plug suit (blue and white) CHARACTER SUMMATION: Apathetic and rather depressed, Shinji was never given any training prior to his first battle with an Angel. He has become a skilled pilot, but his mental stability is less reliable and he often pulls himself through his moral dilemmas alone. He is estranged form his father, the commander of NERV, and finds a surrogate mother in Misato, who acts as his guardian and lets him live at her apartment. PERSONALITY: First things first: this kid is mentally unstable. He struggles with himself and the world. He claims to have been totally apathetic to the troubles surrounding his life and feels 'unnecessary' because his personal value is held low not only by himself but by the very people he interacts with at NERV. He wants to be loved and liked, yet the shell he has made for himself seals him from those kind of relationships.
